I've been playing rec. soccer with all of the friends (Kevin, Lauren, Robin, Ben). Today was our second game and it was so much fun. I think I'm the least skilled player on the team... I don't think I've played any organized sports since grade 9 gym. Our last game was against an "International Student" team. They were all from countries (re: every non-Canadian, non-USA) that actually play soccer. Tres intimidating.

And Lauren scored a goal!

Matt: Sleep is the new sex.

Matt and I make all of our meals together. One of us usually cooks for the other.. we have a limited number of meals we choose from; stir fry, pasta, chicken and potato, pizza (possibly this is the entire repetoire).

Everytime Matt cooks I fawn over every morsal: Oh Matt, thank you for cooking and not being afraid to embrace a new and more domestic gender role. Oh, look at us, we're so progressive!

When I cook Matt complains. Tonight I made pasta with chicken, green and red peppers... all of this after a long day in the lab. And I dared, dared, to try and put brocoli and onion in it. Matt turned into his inner-12 year old and whined, "I always wondered why my Mom couldn't make my pasta sauce in one pan and the rest of the family's in another." Am I your Mother Matt?? I don't think this is a gender stereotype issue, I think it's soley based in prepubesence.
Remember when I went to The Maple Leaf and had the crappiest Moosehead ever? Right now I'm drinking a Keiths and it tastes just as bad. Canadian beer is awful!! Uuuughhhh.

You know the teacher in Peanuts, "whawhawhawhawha...". That's all I'm hearing in CS370. I have an assignment to do and I have everyone elses assignments (because everyone but Kevin's already taken this damn course!). I STILL don't get it. I have complete answers to questions in the assignment, and I still can't answer them!

Matt and I watched Signs last night which I thought was the scariest, greatest movie I've seen in forever. I think I liked it way more than anyone else I've talked to. I highly recommend it. Make sure you watch it in the dark.

I've been in school for two weeks now and feel completely overwhelmed. I think I'd still feel this way if I didn't have OS hanging over my head. I always feel this way and somehow always do fine, but crap, THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY!! And if anyone has any co-op advice I'd love to hear it.

Right now our house has a hot tub in the backyard. It is insanely fun and I don't know how I'll survive winter without it.

Some tidbits:

  • John drinks wine from the bottle so he doesn't have to wash the glass
  • Maeve taught me how to knit. Please note that knitting is the new yoga.
  • Sleater Kinney is playing at the Opera House on Feb. 17. It's gen admin so there's still time to get your tickets!
  • I've realized that I will never be in a course at University of Waterloo with less than 50 people in it. This disgusts me.
  • I had a migraine last Wednesday (alas, no Bomber). My last one was less than a month ago, which I find really scary. I've never had two major ones so close together. I'm taking preventative action by not eating anymore smoked cheese and meat. I'm not ready to give up caffeine just yet.
